From 1 January 2021, all European Union (EU) nationals wishing to work in the United Kingdom (UK), must apply under the new points-based system.

The points- based system is a single global immigration system focussed on the skills people have to offer.

With the end of freedom of movement with the EU, applicants from EU countries who wish to work in the UK will need to show they qualify for a visa under any of the categories within the points-based system.

Applications can be made under any of the tiers of the points-based system. Requirements such as a job offer, appropriate salary, and knowledge of English, must be satisfied before a visa is granted.

If you are looking to work in the UK from an EU country after 31 December 2020, you must apply under any of the Tiers of the points-based system.
